Washington, D.C. --- Five New Jersey lawmakers today called on the Justice Department to investigate whether officials within the Department of Defense and the Department of the Army deliberately withheld or attempted to skew data relating to Fort Monmouth during the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) process. Washington, DC --- U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) today announced that the Belmar Fire Department has been awarded a $565,250 federal Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) for the acquisition of a new multi-purpose fire truck that includes an aerial ladder. The new truck will replace a 23 year old aerial vehicle that has been plagued with maintenance issues in recent years, as well as the department's oldest pumper/engine in their fleet.

Long Branch, NJ --- U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health, issued the following statement today in response to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' (CMS') analysis on the 2006 National Health Expenditure data. The report finds that overall healthcare spending increased last year by 6.7 percent, more than double the rate of overall inflation.
