Long Branch, NJ --- U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) today announced that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will begin the site preparation for the Long Branch beach replenishment project next week. The project is expected to take three months to complete and will replenish beaches beginning at Cedar Avenue and then heading north towards Howland Avenue. These beaches have suffered significant beach erosion in recent years.

NEWARK, N.J. – Last week, legislation authored by U.S. Sen. Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ) to allow states to regulate solid waste processing facilities along rail lines was enacted into law. The law closes a federal loophole that prohibited states from enforcing environmental, health and safety regulations at these rail sites. The bill, the Clean Railroads Act of 2008, was included in a larger package of rail legislation signed by the President. It was cosponsored by Sen.

Long Branch, NJ --- U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) today urged the National Park Service to terminate a lease agreement it has with Sandy Hook Partners (SHP) to redevelop Sandy Hook's Fort Hancock.

The New Jersey congressman also called on the U.S. Department of Interior's Inspector General (IG) to complete an investigation of the lease that he requested and that the IG began 15 months ago.
