Washington, D.C. – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. Wednesday announced that five police officers in Asbury Park and four police officers in Long Branch will be rehired as a direct result of a grant awarded Tuesday by the Department of Justice. The New Brunswick Police Department also received a $1.6 million Community Oriented Policing Services grant to rehire seven police officers. In total, 78 officers will be rehired in New Jersey with $20 million in grants.

The Long Branch and Asbury Park police departments also received $3.1 million in Community Oriented Policing Services grants to rehire nine police officers. In total, 78 officers will be rehired in New Jersey with $20 million in grants.
Long Branch, N.J. – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. Monday issued the following statement opposing the proposed fee increase at Sandy Hook that would double the amount visitors would pay to access the park.

Certain private nonprofit organizations may also receive assistance. The deadline for towns to submit an application for assistance is Friday, September 30, 2011.

Long Branch, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. Friday announced the National Park Service has responded to his request to hold a public input session on the proposed fee increases at Sandy Hook. Pallone spoke out against the proposed fee increase, which would raise the vehicle fee for entering the park from $10 to $20 and double the price of a season pass to the park from $50 to $100. Visitors with over-sized vehicles of 20 feet or longer would have to pay an increased fee of $50 per day to enter the park.
