LONG BRANCH, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06), Senior Democrat on the House Energy & Commerce Subcommittee on Health and a primary author of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), today announced Medicare beneficiaries in New Jersey have saved $198,051,968 on their prescription drugs since 2010, and $64,480,926 since January 2012, an average of $829 per patient so far this year. The savings are made possible by the Affordable Care Act, which provides discounts on prescription drugs to seniors who fall in the Medicare Part D ‘donut hole.’

LONG BRANCH, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today sent the following letter to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Attorney General Eric Holder asking that they work with the government of the United Kingdom to withdraw subpoenas it served on Boston College seeking materials related to confidential oral histories taken as part of the Boston College Belfast Project. The Belfast Project was established to help bolster a better understanding of the decades-long struggle in Northern Ireland.

LONG BRANCH, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. today announced since January 1, 2012 he has successfully secured more than half a million dollars on behalf of constituents in the form of workers’ compensation, social security payments, unemployment insurance and more. Over the past eight months, Congressman Pallone’s constituent outreach representatives have made it possible for constituents to cut through the red tape to receive money that is rightfully owed to them.

LONG BRANCH, NJ—Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) released the following statement regarding a lawsuit filed by the National College Athletics Association (NCAA), Major League Baseball (MLB), the National Basketball Association (NBA), the National Hockey League (NHL) and the National Football League (NFL) to prevent the State of New Jersey from moving forward with allowing sports betting. Currently, only Nevada, Oregon, Delaware and Montana have some type of exemption from the 1992 Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act, a federal law prohibiting sports betting.
