WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) took to the Floor of the U.S. House of Representatives to rail against House Speaker John Boehner’s plan to pass only a small piece of funding over a larger, comprehensive Senate passed relief package for the victims of Hurricane Sandy.

WASHINGTON DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) Thursday was sworn in to the 113th Congress. First elected in 1988, today marks the beginning of Pallone’s 13th term in the U.S. House of Representatives.

“I am deeply honored to represent the Sixth District of New Jersey in the 113th Congress,” said Pallone. “I thank the people of New Jersey’s Sixth District for this great privilege, and will do all I can to continue to serve the needs of our communities during my next term.”

WASHINGTON D.C.—Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) sent a letter to the chair and ranking member of the House Appropriations Committee and Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies today requesting that federal fisheries disaster funding be included in any supplemental disaster funding to assist states affected by Superstorm Sandy. Congressman Pallone’s coastal New Jersey district suffered severe damage from the storm, and many fisheries located within the district are not operational as a result.

WASHINGTON DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today announced that New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium (NJSGC) was awarded $471,500 for research, extension and education programs on coastal issues. Sea Grant is a nationwide network administered through the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) of 32 university-based programs that work with coastal communities.
