A new attempt to get Sandy storm damage relief for the fishing industry in New Jersey is being organized by Rep. Frank Pallone Jr. (NJ-06), this time based on a federal damage assessment that puts the uninsured losses at $198 million.

Although not tied to the weather, another improvement in fishermen's fortunes – hopefully – came on Monday when Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr., D-NJ, announced his plan to introduce the first superstorm Sandy supplemental emergency aid bill to the recreational and commercial fishing industries. Pallone's legislation provides $193 million to fully fund the estimated cost to recover storm-affected fisheries.
