Washington, DC – At a House Natural Resources Committee hearing today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06), expressed his strong opposition to offshore oil and gas drilling in the Atlantic Ocean to Secretary of the Interior, Sally Jewell. Pallone, a senior member of the committee, urged the Department of the Interior (DOI) to consider abandoning any plans to drill in the Atlantic.

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced $59,741,909 in new Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) funding to reimburse the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the use of contractors to remove an estimated 850,000 cubic yards of sand and other sediment from waterways in the central region of the state. The additional sand and sediment as a result of Superstorm Sandywere potential threats to navigation in the waterways.

Long Branch, NJ – On Monday evening, July 15, 2013 Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. called for the House to pass comprehensive immigration reform at an immigration forum in Freehold, New Jersey designed to provide residents with an update on the Senate passed bipartisan comprehensive immigration legislation, S. 744 Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act. Republicans have resisted bringing the Senate bill up for a vote in the House since the measure passed last month by a vote of 68-32.

Long Branch, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today announced that New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium (NJSGC) was awarded $471,500 for research, extension and education programs on coastal issues. Sea Grant is a nationwide network administered through the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) of 32 university-based programs that work with coastal communities.

Long Branch, NJ – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06), the top Democrat for the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health, joined with local HIV/AIDS advocates and a client of Ryan White services at the offices of Hyacinth AIDS Foundation in Newark, New Jersey to announce his legislation that will maintain vital funding for the Ryan White program to continue serving the HIV/AIDS community in New Jersey and provide essential care that allows these individuals to live longer and more prolific lives. The Ryan White program is set to expire in September of this year, and Pallone’s legislation calls for current law to remain in place until Congress works to reauthorize the program.
