WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) sent a letter to Robin Ikeda, Acting Director of the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR), to express his concern regarding the use of recycled rubber tire crumbs in synthetic turf fields and the potential health risks that they pose.
WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium (NJSGC) has been awarded $567,776 for research, extension and education programs on coastal issues. NJSGC will also receive an additional $333,281 in non-federal matching funds. Sea Grant is a nationwide network administered through the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) of 33 programs based at top research universities that help build resilient coastal communities.
WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) will receive an additional $7.1 million to continue to fund buyouts and demolition of flood prone properties in Sayreville and Woodbridge. $3,303,332 has been allocated to continue to buyout and demolish 196 properties in Sayreville and $3,862,563 has been allocated to continue to buyout and demolish 98 properties in Woodbridge.
WASHINGTON, DC —Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) expressed his support for the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) plan to complete the remediation of the Cornell-Dubilier Electronics Superfund site in South Plainfield, New Jersey. This comes in response to the EPA’s proposed plan to cleanup a nine mile stretch of Bound Brook, which passes next to the former Cornell-Dubilier Electronics facility. Under this proposed plan, the EPA estimates that this fourth and final phase of the cleanup will cost $252 million.

The academy was one of 337 public and private schools from across the country to be recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a National Blue Ribbon School this year.
WASHINGTON, DC —Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that both the Asbury Park Police Department and the Long Branch Police Department will be awarded a total of $1.37 million in grants to create or preserve law enforcement jobs at their departments. The Asbury Park Police Department will receive $750,000 to hire six police officers and the Long Branch Police Department will receive $625,000 to hire five police officers. The funds were awarded through the Department of Justice’s Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Hiring Program.
