WASHINGTON, DC -- Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that the state of New Jersey will receive $9,824,640 in federal funding through the Department of Education's School Improvement Grants (SIG) program. These grants are awarded to states for low-achieving schools districts that show the greatest need for assistance and the strongest commitment to using the funds to raise student achievement.

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) sent a letter to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services Secretary Sylvia Burwell addressing discriminatory state policies against the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community regarding fertility coverage. The letter focuses on Erin Krupa et al. v. Richard J Badolato, a case in which two same-sex couples filed suit against the New Jersey Insurance Commissioner, claiming that the New Jersey law mandating coverage for fertility treatments violates their civil rights.

New Brunswick, NJ -- Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced $75,663,600 million in federal funding from the Department of Health and Human Services to New Jersey and the 6th Congressional District for medical care and support to individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS through the Ryan White Program. The program awarded $2.3 billion in grants nationwide.

Long Branch, NJ – Today in Highlands, NJ, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) unveiled the Flood Insurance Reimbursement Standards Transparency (FIRST) Cap Profits Act, which would require increased oversight and transparency of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and to cap the profits of private companies providing flood insurance at 10%. A 2009 GAO report found that profits for flood insurers averaged 16.5%, while a more recent study found profits closer to 30%.

WASHINGTON – Representatives Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) and Paul Tonko (NY-20) released a report today from the Government Accountability Office (GAO), detailing the state of water infrastructure in selected midsize and large cities with declining populations, commonly known as legacy cities. The report shows the immediate need for legislation introduced by Tonko and Pallone, aimed at improving crumbling water infrastructure and enhancing the quality of safe drinking water in communities across the nation.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) issued a statement on the settlement between the Department of Justice and Mylan, Inc. that will force the drug company to pay $465 million over allegations that it improperly classified its EpiPen Auto-Injector as generic drug in order to avoid paying rebates in the Medicaid Drug Rebate Program.
