SEA BRIGHT, N.J. – U.S. Senator Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) and Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (N.J.-06) today announced the introduction of legislation to protect our beaches by setting national coastal water quality standards, and providing federal funding to states to test water quality and notify the public when conditions are unsafe. The announcement was made at the Sea Bright Public Beach.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressmen Frank Pallone (NJ-06) and Bill Pascrell (NJ-09) introduced the bipartisan Sustainable, Affordable, Fair and Efficient National Flood Insurance Program Reauthorization Act (SAFE NFIP) of 2017. The bill protects policyholders from skyrocketing premiums and reauthorizes the NFIP for six years, while also reforming current practices. Those reforms include: improved flood mapping, greater affordability, and increased oversight of the program.
Washington D.C. - Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced over $2.9 million in funding from the Department of Health and Human Services for two area medical institutions. Rutgers University has been awarded $1,729,542 and the Jewish Renaissance Medical Center was rewarded $1,187,876. The Eric B. Chandler Health Center at Rutgers will use the funds to help add personnel to address mental health and substance abuse care.

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced today that the City of Long Branch has been awarded a $562,680 federal grant for its fire department from the Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) program. The grant will enhance Long Branch’s ability to protect the health and safety of the public, as well as its first-responders, by updating its respiratory equipment. The equipment includes self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), face protectors, and radio equipment for helmets.
