WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today announced a research grant for Rutgers University totaling $184,659 from the Department of Health and Human Services. The grant will fund research into cancer biology.

"As technologies and science improve and progress, our commitment to cancer prevention and other disease and health research must be strengthened as well," said Congressman Pallone. "I am proud that Rutgers University, one of the leading research institutions in the world, is receiving this grant. I know it will put it to good use."

Long Branch, N.J. – On Monday February 12, at Clean Ocean Action headquarters, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. and environmental leaders stood together to oppose the National Marine Fisheries Service's (NMFS) consideration of permits to allow seismic testing off the Jersey Shore. Six companies that were denied Incidental Harassment Authorization (IHA) permits during the Obama Administration are currently seeking permits from the Trump Administration, and a decision from NMFS regarding whether to issue those permits is expected soon.

Sea Girt, N.J. – Today, standing outside a Claire's Store in Sea Girt, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) called on the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to investigate Claire's Stores, Inc., and Justice Retail following reports that tremolite asbestos, a known human carcinogen, was found in cosmetic products marketed to girls and young women.

Esder came to the United States with her family when she was just 6 years old. She is currently a sophomore at Rutgers University, Newark.
