Washington, D.C. --- Inspired by the story of a 16-year old Highland Park boy fighting Chrohn's disease, U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) today introduced a resolution in the U.S. House of Representatives expressing the sense of Congress that a commemorative postage stamp should be issued to promote public awareness of Chrohn's disease.

Washington, D.C. --- Fift y-three Democratic members of the U.S. House of Representatives today called on the Bush administration to investigate whether increased market consolidation in the oil industry has resulted in price gouging or other anticompetitive activities. The formal request was made in a letter to Attorney General John Ashcroft and U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Chairman Timothy J. Muris.

Washington, D.C. --- The House Appropriations Committee approved a funding bill for Fiscal Year (FY) 2005 today that includes funds for the continuation of critical shore protection projects in Monmouth County, said U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ).

Washington, D.C. --- U.S. Senators Jon S. Corzine (D-NJ), Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ) and U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) today called on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to restore funding to and complete clean up of the Chemical Insecticide Corporation (CIC) Superfund site in Edison. The New Jersey lawmakers' request follows recent reports that cleanup operations at the site have been delayed because of a lack of funding.

"Three months after the Edison Wetlands Association released its disturbing sampling report on Troutman's Creek, N ew Jersey Natural Gas has just released its own report showing that none of its samples at the surface show any contamination by the company. These conflicting reports show why it's so important that the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) conduct its own testing at the site, something that I requested earlier this year.

Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), a senior member of the committee and the ranking Democrat on the House Fisheries, Conservation, Wildlife and Ocean Subcommittee, voiced his concerns regarding three sections of the report.

Washington, D.C. --- In response to a U.S. Government Accounting Office (GAO) ruling that "video news releases" (VNRs) produced by the Bush administration violated the law, U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and 27 of his Democratic colleagues yesterday introduced legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives requiring President Bush's campaign to repay the full cost of the VNRs. Pallone's legislation is identical to a Senate bill introduced yesterday by U.S. Senator Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ).
