Solis (D-CA) the Ranking Democrat of the Energy and Commerce Committee's Subcommittee on Environment and Hazardous Materials, issued the following statement today in conjunction with the release of "Against the Public's Will," a report by OMB Watch summarizing public comments on the Environmental Protection Agency's proposal to gut reporting requirements of the Toxics Release Inventory (TRI).

Washington, D.C. U.S. Sens. Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ) and Robert Menendez (D-NJ) and U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) today lauded the passage of legislation late last week that will ensure New Jersey's Family Care Program has the necessary funds to continue providing health care coverage to all the children currently in the program during the 2007 fiscal year.

Washington, D.C. --- U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and U.S. Sens. Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ) and Robert Menendez (D-NJ) today sent a letter to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Regional Administrator Alan Steinberg voicing serious concerns that the federal agency might allow the Ford Motor Company to cap mine shafts at the Ringwood Mines/Landfill Superfund site rather than require the company to clear out contaminated material.

Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), ranking Democrat on the House Fisheries and Oceans Subcommittee, testified before the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (ASMFC) today urging support for a 19.9 million pound quota for summer flounder for the upcoming year. The New Jersey congressman's statement follows.

A vote is expected later today.

Washington, D.C. ---- Four New Jersey lawmakers lauded reauthorization of the Magnuson-Stevens Act tonight after they fought to include a provision extending until 2013 the rebuilding time frame for summer flounder. The reauthorization bill, which updates our nation's fisheries management laws, was passed by the House late tonight after winning approval in the Senate on Thursday.

Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), founder and former co-chair of the Congressional Caucus on India and Indian Americans, made the following statement in opposition to H.R. 6406, the Trade/Vietnam Bill, which is being considered tonight in the House. The legislation includes a provision to give the President the authority to end India's competitive need limitations waivers after six months. A vote on the legislation is expected later this evening.
