Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health, issued the following statement in response to the Bush administration's decision to amend its Fiscal Year (FY) 2009 budget request to include an additional $275 million for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Washington, D.C. --- Sixteen members of Congress today sent the following letter to Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh urging that he meet with survivor groups of the world' worst industrial disaster and address their continuing environmental and health concerns. The letter was initiated by U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), co-founder of the Congressional Caucus on India and Indian Americans.

Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) announced today that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will begin dredging the Shark River Inlet on May 25th to address shoaling concerns that were discovered last month. The New Jersey congressman said the Army Corps plans to spend 10 days dredging the Inlet.

Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) today sent the following letter to the National Park Service (NPS) requesting that it deny another extension of a lease agreement with Sandy Hook Partners (SHP) for the continuation of the redevelopment of Fort Hancock. As he has in the past, the New Jersey congressman expressed concerns regarding SHP's inability to produce the necessary funds to continue with the project and the fact that it has already received several extensions.
