LONG BRANCH, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today announced three Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) grants to reimburse the New Jersey Department of Human Services for expenses related to relief efforts during the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. In total, the state will receive approximately $29 million for expenses incurred to support disaster operations.

LONG BRANCH, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) sent a letter to FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate today urging him to expand the grace period which flood insurance policy holders have to make their premium payment from 30 days to 45 days in an effort to assist those whose homes were devastated by Hurricane Sandy. Pallone requests that the expansion be effective retroactively to assist those recovering from Hurricane Sandy.

OLD BRIDGE, NJ – On Wednesday, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) presented comments at a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) meeting about its proposal to clean up lead contamination at the Raritan Bay Slag Superfund site in Old Bridge and Sayreville. Pallone has long prioritized the cleanup of this contaminated site so the local community may once again access the waterfront area without worry of health hazards. Lead is a toxic metal that can be particularly dangerous to children’s developmental health.
