“I am shocked and saddened by the tragedy that took place in Orlando last night. It is appalling that so many innocent lives were taken. These senseless acts are horrifying and contrary to the principles that we hold dear.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-6), the top Democrat on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, voted for the legislation and helped lead Democratic efforts to pass the PIPES Act, which takes important towards protecting infrastructure and improving pipeline safety. The legislation reauthorizes the federal gas and hazardous liquid pipeline safety program that is overseen by the Department of Transportation’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) through fiscal year 2019.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) visited New hope Treatment in Marlboro to discuss legislation to combat the opioid epidemic. Pallone, who led democratic efforts to pass the bill, toured the facility and discussed how provisions in the conference report that recently passed the House of Representatives and Senate will assist addiction treatment centers. The legislation includes important and proven programs to address prevention, treatment and recovery.

Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-6), the top Democrat on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, helped lead Democratic efforts to pass the bill in the House and it now heads to the President for signature.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone (NJ-06), who serves as the top Democrat of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, led his colleagues in sending a letter to Cathleen Bennett, Acting Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Health, following up on a February 22, 2016 request for information on the department’s role in preventing childhood lead poisoning.

The roundtable also focused on the importance of diversity in the innovation economy. WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-6) announced that his office will be participating in the Congressional App Challenge, an app competition for U.S. high school students. The Challenge submission period will run from July 18, 2016 through November 2, 2016. The competition is open to all students who meet the eligibility requirements, regardless of coding experience.
