Washington, D.C. --- U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) today announced the U.S. House of Representatives approved a giant Fiscal Year (FY) 2004 omnibus spending bill that included $5.8 million for expansion of marine mammal research in Central Jersey. The New Jersey congressman said he secured federal funding for the Jacques Cousteau National Estuarine Research Reserve, the James J. Howard Marine Sciences Laboratory at Sandy Hook, and the Striped Bass--Bluefish Population Dynamics Research Program at Rutgers University.

Washington, D.C. -- The U.S. House of Representatives today approved more than $83 million in aid and military assistance to Armenia and aid to Nagorno Karabakh as part of a large omnibus bill for Fiscal Year (FY) 2004, said U.S. Reps. Joe Knollenberg (R-MI) and Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), co-chairs of the Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues.

Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) today secured $100,000 for Union County Colleges (UCC) College for Teens program, a Plainfield program providing at-risk high school students with crucial academic, technology and leadership skills to succeed in college or the workplace. The New Jersey congressman requested the funds earlier this year.

Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) secured $1 million for the continued construction of the South Amboy Intermodal Transportation Initiative, providing the critical funds to begin the second phase of the project, which calls for the construction of an elevated platform to dramatically improve safety, the addition of handicapped accessibility and the facilitation of overall upgrades to the transportation system.

Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) requested for the expansion of the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospitals Bristol-Myers Squibb Childrens Hospital (BMSCH) in New Brunswick. The New Jersey congressman requested the funds earlier this year.

Washington, D.C. --- U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) said today that the U.S. House of Representatives approved a giant funding bill for Fiscal Year (FY) 2004 that includes funding for two agriculture research projects at Rutgers University. Pallone, whose district includes Rutgers, requested the agricultural funding for the programs in a letter to members of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture earlier this year.

Washington, D.C. --- One day after an investment firm consulting the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority recommended the state consider selling or leasing Monmouth Park to boost revenues, U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) voiced strong opposition today to the proposed sale of the racetrack. The New Jersey congressman sent a letter to Governor James McGreevey voicing his opposition to a sale and stating that if the state is forced into a lease agreement, the governor should guarantee that Monmouth Park remain a venue for horseracing.
