Washington, D.C. --- U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) today introduced bipartisan legislation that would allow U.S. citizens who own property in the Turkish occupied portion of the Republic of Cyprus to seek financial remedies with either the current inhabitants of their land or the Turkish government. The New Jersey Congressman is pleased to be joined by U.S. Reps. Michael Bilirakis (R-FL) and Carolyn Maloney (D-NY), the co-chairs of the Congressional Caucus on Hellenic Issues, as original sponsors of this legislation.

Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) today urged the Freehold Soil Conversation District to carefully monitor the soil on the large development now being constructed on the Elberon Ranch and the properties around it to prevent more soil from eroding and running into Takanasee Lake.

Washington, D.C. -- U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone (D-NJ) today announced the U.S. Department of Justice Bureau of Justice Assistance has awarded a $38,566 federal grant to the New Brunswick Police Department to provide anti-gang prevention training programs to local schools.

Washington, D.C. --- U.S. Senators Jon S. Corzine (D-NJ), Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ) and U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) announced that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has agreed to provide $3.1 million in additional funds to continue cleanup of the Chemical Insecticide Corporation (CIC) Superfund site in Edison. The funds will allow cleanup at the site to continue through the end of September.

Washington, D.C. --- U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), founder of the Congressional Caucus on India and Indian Americans, today expressed concern that the new Indian administration did not include mention of the Kashmiri Pandits as part of its policy on Kashmir. In a letter to Prime Minister Singh, the New Jersey congressman called on the new Administration to include the Pandits in any future policy discussions on Kashmir.

Washington, D.C. --- U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) today called on the National Park Service to take necessary steps to protect the existing structures at Fort Hancock from continued weather-related damage. Pallone made the formal request in a letter to Acting Superintendent of Sandy Hook Richard Wells.

Long Branch, NJ --- As Congressional hearings begin on the final 9/11 Commission report, Commissioner John F. Lehman yesterday highlighted Fort Monmouth's contribution in providing critical support to first responders in the event of another terrorist attack. U.S. Reps. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Rush Holt (D-NJ) today praised Commissioner Lehman, a Republican who served as Secretary of the Navy for seven years under President Reagan, for recognizing the role Fort Monmouth plays in homeland security.

Long Branch, NJ --- One week after the nonprofit agency that runs Monmouth County's Head Start program laid off 35 employees and closed its summer enrichment program for more than 100 children, U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) today called on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to investigate how long the nonprofit agency has been in financial trouble and to explore possible solutions to prevent future closures.

Washington, D.C. --- Several weeks after garbage washed up on beaches in Monmouth County and U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) requested federal agencies investigate a likely breakdown in the "Floatables Action Plan," the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers today informed the New Jersey congressman that a review has now been taken and several improvements have been made to the program.
