WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. issued the following statement upon the announcement of the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling on the case of Shelby County vs. Holder, which strikes down a critical component of the Voting Rights Act:

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced $4,319,560 in federal funding to Perth Amboy for repairs to walkways, bulkheads, marina fishing piers, docks, and electrical systems at the Perth Amboy Marina as a result of damages incurred during Superstorm Sandy.

Long Branch, NJ – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers that the contract has been awarded to Great Lakes Dredging and Dock Company, LLC for the beach fill project in Sea Bright and Monmouth Beach and that work will begin by the end of next month. The contractor will use 2.5 million cubic yards of sand and must complete the project within 175 days after it starts. This portion of the beach is part of a larger beach replenishment project from Sea Bright to Manasquan that will move forward in 3 additional phases.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that the Atlantic Highlands Fire Department has been awarded $235,030 from the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program.

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced two grants through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Housing Counseling Program to help provide individuals or families with advice and information on housing issues with the goal of expanding homeownership opportunities and improving access to affordable housing. Through this program, the Puerto Rican Association for Human Development in Perth Amboy has been awarded a $15,952 grant, and the Housing Authority of the City of Perth Amboy has been awarded a $20,750 grant.
