WASHINGTON, DC – With prescription drug abuse on the rise, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06), Ranking Member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, today applauded Health Subcommittee passage of the National All Schedules Prescription Electronic Reporting (NASPER) Act. The program provides grant funding to states for prescription drug monitoring programs (PDMPs). PDMPs aid in combatting the growing prescription drug abuse epidemic by helping prescribers, pharmacists, and law enforcement officials track the misuse of prescription drugs.

WASHINGTON, DCCongressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today announced a $350,000 grant to Rutgers University’s Papers of Thomas Edison project from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). The grant will allow the project to prepare for publication two volumes (volumes 9 and 10) of the papers of inventor Thomas Edison, covering the period 1888-1892.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that the U.S. Department of Education has awarded a $513,812 grant to Rutgers University-New Brunswick and a $288,729 grant to Middlesex County College through the Student Support Services Program (SSS). The purpose of SSS is to provide academic and other support services to low-income, first-generation and disabled college students to increase retention and graduation rates.

WASHINGTON, DCCongressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06), Ranking Member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, and Congressman Devin Nunes (CA-22), a Republican on the House Ways and Means Committee, have introduced the TELEmedicine for MEDicare (TELE-MED) Act of 2015. The bipartisan legislation would permit Medicare providers who are licensed to practice physically in one state, to treat patients electronically across state lines.
