WASHINGTON, DC –Congressman Frank Pallone (D-NJ) returned from Baku, Azerbaijan, where he participated in the 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29) on UN Climate Action. Azerbaijani government sponsored protests greeted Pallone at both COP 29 and the hotel where he stayed. He avoided physical harm only through the efforts of State Department.

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr., Ranking Member of the Energy and Commerce Committee and a key architect of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), announced today that the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) will receive $27.85 million through the Low-Carbon Transportation Materials Grants Program created by the IRA. This funding, disbursed by the Federal Highway Administration, will help implement low-carbon materials on federal-aid construction projects throughout the state.

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Congressman Raúl M. Grijalva (D-AZ) today sent a letter to President Biden urging him to use his authority under Section 12(a) of the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act (OCSLA) to permanently withdraw unleased and at-risk areas of the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) from fossil fuel development. Citing the economic and ecological importance of protecting these waters, the Members of Congress stressed the urgency of enacting permanent protections.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Frank Pallone Jr. (NJ-06) today announced $112 million in federal funding to overhaul key Amtrak and NJ Transit infrastructure along the Northeast Corridor in New Jersey. The funding includes $18.6 million to upgrade the signal system between New Brunswick and Elizabeth, $13.4 million for catenary modernization across a 23-mile stretch in northern New Jersey, and $80 million for upgrades at the Kearny Substation. These upgrades will reduce service disruptions, improve train speeds, and enhance reliability for daily commuters.

Highlands, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. has announced a major win for central New Jersey with $54.9 million in federal funding from the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Clean Ports Program to advance zero-emission high-speed ferries through Seastreak, LLC. This award will support the deployment of zero-emission ferries and essential charging infrastructure, aimed at cutting dangerous pollution and easing travel between New Jersey and Manhattan.

South Plainfield, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) toured the newly upgraded South Plainfield Emergency Operations Center (EOC) today to highlight the recent improvements funded by $370,725 he secured in the Fiscal Year 2023 federal budget. The EOC upgrades include new equipment and computer systems to better track emergencies in real time and enhanced 9-1-1 communications tools to support the Borough’s first responders during emergencies and natural disasters.
