A contractor has been selected to begin repairing levees and removing debris left in superstorm Sandy's wake, according to an announcement from the office of Rep. Frank Pallone Jr., D-N.J.

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced $1,036,717 in Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) funding to Bayshore Regional Sewerage Authority (BRSA) to repair Superstorm Sandy damage to three of their facilities: the Main Pump Station, the Maintenance Building, and the Grit Facility.

With an assist from Congressman Frank Pallone, the borough has already received $7 million in federal funds from FEMA.

"SNAP is our nation's most important anti-hunger safety net program and is one of the most effective and efficient federal programs, with one of the lowest – if not the lowest – rates of fraud, waste and abuse,"

"Millions of Americans benefit from Medicare's drug coverage program each year, which is why it's imperative that checks are in place to prevent fraud and abuse as well as to protect patients. We cannot allow Medicare's prescription drug program to be compromised at taxpayer expense. My bill, the Part D Prescription Drug Integrity Act of 2013, will strengthen the Medicare law to help address potential factors contributing to prescription drug abuse."

"The Supreme Court has held what I have been arguing for more than a decade — DOMA is unconstitutional," he said in a statement. "Yet it is still just one step in the march towards total equality for all Americans. I remain strongly in support of repealing DOMA in its entirety and passing the Respect for Marriage Act so that all marriages between two committed individuals in the United States are recognized by the federal government."

"These grants through HUD's Housing Counseling Assistance Program will help to provide New Jersey's families and individuals with the resources they need to be responsible tenants or homeowners."
