NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today presented Corporal Charles Brown, Jr. of Piscataway with a Congressional Gold Medal for his distinguished achievements as a Montford Point Marine during World War II. The Congressional Gold Medal is the nation’s highest civilian award. The ceremony was held at Parker’s Landing Lane Care Residence in New Brunswick where Cpl. Brown now resides.
On Wednesday, October 17 at 2:00 PM Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) will present a Congressional Gold Medal to Corporal Charles W. Brown, Jr. of Piscataway for his achievements and contributions as a Montford Point Marine during World War II. The presentation will be at Parker’s Landing Lane Nursing Care Residence in New Brunswick. The Congressional Gold Medal is the highest civilian award in the U.S.

METUCHEN, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) on Wednesday presented Sgt. Daniel Robinson and Cpl. Austin Banks of Metuchen with Congressional Gold Medals for their achievements and contributions as Montford Point Marines during World War II. The Ceremony was organized by the United States Marine Corps and took place in front of Borough Hall in Metuchen.
WASHINGTON DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today announced a $1 million grant for services to assist approximately 400 at-risk or homeless veterans in Monmouth, Middlesex, Ocean and Burlington Counties. The Sixth District includes areas in both Middlesex and Monmouth counties. The grant was awarded to the nonprofit organization United Veterans of America Inc. (Soldier On) under the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program.
LONG BRANCH, NJ—Sgt. John J. Irwin III has joined Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr.’s (NJ-06) Long Branch office to assist with veteran case work. Irwin comes to Pallone’s office through the Wounded Warrior Fellowship Program, which provides employment opportunities for wounded or disabled veterans within the House of Representatives in Washington DC and district offices.
Congressional Inquiry determined Russell T. Olivadotti was entitled to, but never awarded, the Bronze Star for WWII Army Service.
LONG BRANCH, NJ—Today Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) posthumously awarded the Bronze Star medal to the family of Russell T. Olivadotti following a Congressional Inquiry initiated by Pallone’s Office. Mr. Olivadotti, a resident of West Long Branch until he passed away in August 2011, was wounded while serving in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Clinic awarded nearly $221,000 to provide housing and case support to homeless veterans
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Frank Pallone (NJ-06) announced today that the Veterans Affairs (VA) Clinic in Piscataway, NJ was awarded nearly $221,000 to fight homelessness among veterans. The funds, which are provided through the U.S. Housing and Urban Development Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing Program (HUD-VASH), will go to supply permanent housing and case management services for local homeless veterans.
Tinton Falls, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. and Congressman Rush Holt Monday held a ribbon-cutting to recognize the reopening of the Department of Veterans Affairs Community-based Outpatient Clinic in Monmouth County. The clinic in its new location has been expanded and the majority of the clinic’s services are now on one level to make it easier for physically challenged patients to get around the facility.
