Washington, DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) led House passage yesterday of the bipartisan South Asian Heart Health Awareness Act to promote heart health research and awareness of heart disease that disproportionately impacts South Asians in the United States. South Asians have four times the risk of heart disease than the general population, have a much greater chance of having a heart attack before age 50, and have emerged as the ethnic group with the highest prevalence of type 2 diabetes – a leading cause of heart disease.

The Right to Contraception Act establishes a statutory right to obtain and use contraceptives and gives health care providers the right to provide contraceptives, contraception, and information related to contraception.
