*****Public Advisory***** Pallone to Host Public Forum on Keyport Flood Control Project Monday, February 2 at 7:00 P.M.

January 26, 2004

U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) invites area residents to a community forum with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on the proposed Keyport flood control project, Monday, February 2 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Keyport First Aid Squad, located at 1927 Atlantic Street in Keyport. The New Jersey congressman and the Army Corps of Engineers will provide residents with information on the project and will also request feedback from residents on the proposal.

Keyport has historically endured flooding and storm damage along the bay after major rainstorms. This flooding has caused serious damage to local homes, businesses, and roads, cutting off access to sections of the town. The Army Corps of Engineers has begun a feasibility study of the Keyport shoreline and the various alternatives that would help protect Keyport residents and area businesses from future flooding and storm damage.
