Pallone Visits Monmouth Family Health Center
Long Branch, NJ- Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06), the Ranking Member on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, which oversees health, visited the Monmouth Family Health Center to commemorate National Health Center Week. Pallone visited with the Health Center’s employees and discussed its importance in providing quality care to the surrounding communities.
“The Monmouth Family Health Center provides essential preventive and primary health care services to those most in need of assistance and is an indispensable resource for surrounding communities. I am especially impressed by the expertise and dedication of the professionals who help it serve so many of my contestants. The Affordable Care Act provided much needed funding to health centers and I will continue to fight so that we support our community health centers, not abandon them.”
In his previous role as Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health, Pallone played a key role in authoring and passing the Affordable Care Act which created the Community Health Center (CHC) Fund. Monmouth Family Health Center has received funding from the program, including a grant of $1,050,590 last year and in 2012 it received a $3.4 million grant to expand its facilities and serve more patients.
