Pallone Statement on Export-Import Bank Reauthorization
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) made the following statement on today’s House passage of reauthorization of the Export-Import Bank of the United States (Ex-Im).
“I am glad that Republicans finally joined Democrats to reauthorize the Export-Import Bank. Today’s reauthorization will give businesses the certainty they need, strengthen American manufacturing, boost exports, and create jobs here at home. Continuing to cut off the vital support of Ex-Im from the 25 businesses in New Jersey’s 6th Congressional District that rely on the bank – and thousands throughout the country – would have been detrimental. My office spoke with businesses based right here in our District that were in danger of losing important contracts because of the Ex-Im expiration. They are just a couple of the many cases of how the American manufacturing sector, including in New Jersey, needs Ex-Im to continue to innovate and be a bright spot in our economic recovery.”
