Pallone Statement on Dingell Retirement
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. Ranking Member on the House Energy Commerce Health Subcommittee released the following statement today upon the announcement of Congressman John Dingell’s decision not to seek reelection:
“Congressman Dingell is a living legend and one of the most prominent and accomplished lawmakers in American history and it has been a great honor to serve beside him. A veteran, and consummate public servant, beyond being the longest serving Member of Congress, Congressman Dingell’s impact can be felt on some of the most important legislation of the past half century. From Medicare, to the Affordable Care Act, to the Clean Air Act, Congressman Dingell’s work endures and continues to improve people’s lives every day.
“Congressman Dingell’s presence will be greatly missed in Congress, but his influence will be felt for generations. I commend and thank my good friend and colleague Congressman Dingell on his years of service and commitment to helping the American public. I wish him the best of luck and look forward to continuing to work together to improve public health and protect consumers and the environment.”
