Pallone, Holt Announce Tinton Falls VA Clinic Will Open July 5
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-6) and Congressman Rush Holt (NJ-12) Tuesday announced the Veterans Affairs Community-based Outpatient Clinic in Tinton Falls that will replace the services currently offered at the Ft. Monmouth CBOC will officially open Tuesday, July 5 which accomplishes the least possible interruption to area veterans’ health care. The clinic that currently operates at Ft. Monmouth closed June 24 and is currently transitioning to the new location at 55 Gilbert Street in Tinton Falls. Beginning June 29 the Tinton Falls location will be partially operational and will treat emergency health care needs.
“This plan provides minimal interruption to veterans’ care which has always been my top priority,” said Pallone. “The VA has done a good job of easing this transition in addition to improving on the services offered at the clinic which will benefit veterans’ health significantly.”
The new facility will maintain primary care services, social work services, nutrition advice, laboratory services and mental health services but will also offer specialty care.
“I am pleased that the VA has honored its pledge to maintain a community-based outpatient clinic in Monmouth County,” said Holt. “Fortunately, the new clinic location is only a short distance from Fort Monmouth, is easy to reach, and will provide a wide and growing range of services to local veterans.”
New services such as expanded women’s health care and optometry will be offered at the more modern Tinton Falls facility, which with only one level, will be more accessible for all veterans. Additionally, the new site will have the capability to provide telehealth services which will allow veterans access to specialty care doctors without the inconvenience of traveling to multiple locations.
