July 30, 2015

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that Deal Fire Company No. 2 received $57,501 in federal funding allocated as part of the Department of Homeland Security Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) award program. The money will be spent on operations and safety programs, including professional training, wellness and fitness programs equipment, personal protective equipment, modifications to facilities, and supplies that support firefighting and non-affiliated EMS operations and safety.

“These funds will provide invaluable training and resources for firefighters and will help better protect the Deal community in emergency situations,” said Congressman Pallone. “Firefighters and first responders deserve the best equipment and training we can provide while they risk their lives to protect us every day. This grant will keep our firefighters and those that they protect safer.”

The AFG program is part of the Federal Emergency Management Agency and Department of Homeland Security, and is part of a coordinated effort to improve the nation’s ability to respond to emergency situations.
