Pallone Statement on White House Meeting with President Biden to Discuss COVID Relief

February 5, 2021

Washington, DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) issued the following statement today after attending a White House meeting with President Biden, Vice President Harris, and House Democratic leaders to discuss the urgent need to provide COVID-19 pandemic relief to the American people:

"At today's White House meeting, President Biden stressed the need for swift Congressional action to provide relief to the American people and additional resources to crush this pandemic. The Trump Administration left President Biden with a mess to clean up, and he has put forward a comprehensive and national strategy that meets the monumental challenges of the moment.

"As Chairman of the Energy and Commerce Committee, I am prepared to move forward with legislation that will speed up the distribution of vaccines, expand national testing efforts, ramp up health services in underserved communities, and fund other critical needs. There is simply no time to waste – we must provide the Biden Administration all the tools and resources it needs to finally contain the spread of this virus."
