Pallone’s Transportation and Infrastructure Projects for New Jersey’s 6th Congressional District Pass House

Washington, DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today announced that three transportation and infrastructure projects he requested for New Jersey's Sixth Congressional District passed the House of Representatives. The projects were included in the INVEST America Act, a transformational infrastructure bill that makes record investments in roads, bridges, and transit.

The three projects include:

• $5.625 million for a ferry terminal in Carteret that represents the next phase of the town's ongoing work to run a ferry from Central New Jersey to downtown Manhattan that will improve daily commutes for residents of Central New Jersey and encourage economic development.
• $13 million for the NJ Transit station in Long Branch. The railroad station will be made intermodal by bringing buses, trollies, taxis, and ride sharing services into the station property with an indoor waiting room. The money will also be used to build a new pedestrian bridge west of the station platform to reconnect the business and residential community on the west side of the tracks.
• $1.25 million for pedestrian improvements in Woodbridge that will provide paved sidewalks and new or replacement street curbs on Magnolia Road where hundreds of pedestrians walk every day to access NJ Transit and Amtrak service at Metropark.
