Pallone Joins Nurses’ Picket Line at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital

New Brunswick, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today delivered the following statement at the nurses’ picket line at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital:

“I’m here at the picket line today in New Brunswick to join the striking nurses from RWJ University Hospital. 

I’ve been a longtime advocate for union workers, who are the backbone of our communities in New Jersey and around the country. Every day, nurses work hard to keep us healthy and safe, and they deserve pay and benefits that reflect their important role.

It is imperative that the nurses and the hospital come to an agreement so they can get back to work and the hospital can function with its regular nursing staff. 

I have been in frequent contact with both union and hospital leadership to forge a contract that both sides can support. Both the nurses and RWJ University Hospital administration are determined to provide world class care to patients now and in the future.”
