Pallone Holds First Meeting with 2024 Youth Advisory Council

February 3, 2024

Piscataway, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today held his first meeting of his Youth Advisory Council in 2024 at the Piscataway Community Center.  During the meeting, high school students from New Jersey’s Sixth Congressional District discussed key issues with the Congressman and staff and possible solutions to our country’s most complex challenges.

“The Youth Advisory Council provides a platform for young leaders, from across our district, to come together and participate in the democratic process. During this time of deep partisanship across the country, it is inspiring to see the next generation’s dedication to making our country a better place,” Pallone said. “I’m excited to continue the engagement with the council and to listen to their legislative proposals.”

Congressman Pallone’s Youth Advisory Council was created in 2016 and has continuously given young leaders a platform to become civically engaged. This year, Congressman Pallone welcomed 118 high school students on his council—the largest group of members to date. This diverse group of students hails from 26 high schools and 23 towns.

To join the council, students must demonstrate a commitment to governance and public service, answer a series of questions, and provide letters of recommendation. The culmination of their work will be a presentation of their legislative agenda to Congressman Pallone.
