Pallone Highlights Federal Funding for Atlantic Highlands to Repair Bulkhead

April 14, 2023

Atlantic Highlands, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) held a press conference on federal funding he secured for Atlantic Highlands. The Borough will receive $2.1 million to repair the bulkhead at the Municipal Harbor from a federal spending bill signed into law last year. The deteriorating bulkhead is one of the most critical pieces of infrastructure for residents and businesses near the Borough’s public marina, helping to protect the area from flooding and stabilizing the shoreline.

“I’m proud to be in Atlantic Highlands today to talk about federal funding on the way to help Atlantic Highlands repair this critical bulkhead. Coastal communities along the Jersey Shore depend on reliable infrastructure to keep them safe. This funding will allow the Borough to rebuild the bulkhead for residents and businesses who rely on it,” said Pallone. “I’m looking forward to seeing this project after it’s complete.”

“The Borough of Atlantic Highlands is honored to host Congressman Pallone at the Atlantic Highlands Municipal Harbor to highlight the $2.1 million dollars in federal appropriations funding that will be used for Harbor Bulkhead repair,” said Mayor Gluckstein. “The structural integrity and safety of the harbor’s infrastructure is vital to the local community. The Atlantic Highlands Municipal Harbor is the largest municipally owned harbor from Maine to Florida and is essential to the greater NY Metro area.”
