Menendez, Pallone Lead Effort to Honor New Jersey Legend Bruce Springsteen
JERSEY CITY, N.J. - Today, on New Jersey singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen’s birthday, Representatives Rob Menendez (NJ-08) and Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) led an effort to designate September 23, 2025, as “Bruce Springsteen Day.”
This resolution honors Springsteen’s contributions to music, New Jersey, and the nation, through his representation of Americans’ hopes and dreams, as well as their struggles.
“Through his storytelling and musical talent, Bruce Springsteen truly captures the experience of everyday Americans and those fighting to achieve the American Dream,” said Congressman Rob Menendez. “With his breakout album, ‘Born to Run’ turning 50 this year, I’m excited to honor a New Jersey native whose music uplifts people nationwide and reminds us to always chase our dreams.”
“September 23 is more than Bruce Springsteen’s birthday; it’s a chance to honor how much he’s given to New Jersey and to fans everywhere,” said Congressman Frank Pallone. “This resolution recognizes his unmatched contributions to music, storytelling, and community, and it celebrates a life’s work rooted in the Jersey Shore that continues to inspire people across the country. I recently filed a separate resolution marking the 50th anniversary of the legendary album Born to Run, but today’s measure is about celebrating the man himself, and all he’s meant to generations who see their own hopes and struggles uplifted in his songs.”
The resolution aims to highlight Springsteen’s extraordinary leadership of the E Street Band and his musical talent. He has received over 20 Grammy Awards and was a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his philanthropic efforts and success in the arts.
