"Piscataway was hit with such severe winds during Superstorm Sandy that many parts were unrecognizable and unsafe the next day, forcing residents and township employees to work tirelessly to remove the trees, branches, and other debris," Pallone said in a news release announcing the Federal Emergency Management Agency funding. "This funding provided by FEMA makes sure that the township won't have to unfairly bear the entire cost of the emergency cleanup."
