Pallone Statement on Updated Trump Immigration and Refugee Executive Order
Washington, DC- Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) issued the following statement in response to a revised executive order from President Trump restricting immigration from majority Muslim countries:
“When President Trump issued his initial Muslim Ban, which federal courts prevented from being implemented, I said it was a continuation of his impractical, dangerous and discriminatory beliefs. Despite new language, that has not changed. This new order has the same underlying goal: to prevent Muslim refugees and immigrants from entering the United States. The Trump Administration has made that argument, as White House advisor Stephen Miller said the new ban would have ‘the same, basic policy outcome for the country’ as the initial executive order.’ I will continue to oppose this reckless action and support those seeking to immigrate to this country to make a better, peaceful life for themselves and their families.”
