Pallone Announces New Jersey’s Selection for Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics Demonstration Project

December 23, 2016

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone (NJ-06) announced that New Jersey has been selected for participation in a two-year Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) demonstration program. This demonstration is part of a comprehensive effort to integrate behavioral health with physical health care, increase consistent use of evidence-based practices, and improve access to high quality care for people with mental and substance use disorders.

“Improving the quality and scope of healthcare is critical to ensuring that individuals and families struggling with mental illness or substance use disorders get the tools they need to meet those challenges,” said Pallone. “I am excited about the prospects of this demonstration project, and I hope it will improve health outcomes across New Jersey.”

Pallone has been a longtime advocate for improving the continuum of care for vulnerable populations. As the top Democrat on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, he worked to advance and enact legislation to improve access to mental health treatment and increase resources to fight the opioid epidemic earlier this year.
