Pallone Announces Coding and App Building Competition for NJ Students

November 12, 2015

LONG BRANCH, NJ – Today at JP Stevens High School in Edison, NJ, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced the launch of the 2015 Congressional App Challenge for high school students in New Jersey’s Sixth Congressional District. For the Challenge, which will run until January 15, students will have the opportunity to build online, mobile or computer applications. The Congressman discussed the Challenge and the importance of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) in education and for economic growth and innovation.

“The Congressional App Challenge is a wonderful opportunity for high school students to put their technical and creative skills to work,” said Congressman Pallone. “Our high school students are the future leaders of the tech industry. As they progress and continue to innovate, we must make investments in STEM education a priority in New Jersey to ensure that we are giving the next generation the tools and training necessary to keep the United States on the cutting edge for years to come.”
