Health Subcommittee Ranking Member Frank Pallone Statement on HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius Resignation

WASHINGTON, DC—Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06), Senior Democrat on the House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee released the following statement regarding the resignation of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius today:

“I commend Secretary Sebelius for her years of service at the helm of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). During her tenure, Secretary Sebelius guided HHS through some of the most significant changes in the history of our nation’s health care system. Secretary Sebelius played a critical role in the passage and implementation Affordable Care Act, which has created a pathway for millions of Americans to gain access to affordable health care and ended the discriminatory practices of the past with new and fair reforms. Her efforts to improve public health will be felt by generations of Americans and I wish her luck in her future endeavors."
