Pallone Highlights New Community Center Coming to Laurence Harbor in Old Bridge

March 15, 2023

Old Bridge, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) held a press conference today to highlight a new community center coming to Old Bridge along the Laurence Harbor beachfront. Pallone secured $2.25 million in a federal spending bill signed into law last year.

The Borough will use the funding to construct a multipurpose building to help the community expand recreational opportunities for its residents. The new building will consist of a two-story community building and will be used for recreation on the first floor and open space, providing a beautiful and functional space for residents and visitors in Laurence Harbor.

“Federal funding is on the way for Old Bridge to construct a new building for Laurence Harbor residents to use for recreation and community activities,” Pallone said. “I secured this project so that our friends and neighbors can stay active and have a shared space that will bring the community together. It will also help foster new economic opportunities in the township. I look forward to seeing the new building once construction is complete.”

“During these difficult economic times, it's important to recognize the need to increase and encourage recreational opportunities for our working families. We are excited to share the proposed conceptual plans for the Laurence Harbor Community Building," Mayor Owen Henry said. "This is the first step towards the revitalization of Old Bridge's waterfront, which will not only spur economic growth but also create an engaging destination place within the Township.”
